Meet Isabella "Izzy" Arcadipane: Kingston High School's 2025 Principal's Award Winner!

We're proud to introduce Kingston High School's 2025 Principal's Award recipient, Isabella "Izzy" Arcadipane! This annual honor recognizes a student who demonstrates exceptional leadership, character, and commitment to the KHS community.

Principal Dr. Rachael Scorca selected Izzy for exemplifying what it means to actively make a difference. "Izzy is an outstanding and hard-working individual who has made an incredible impact at Kingston High School,” she said. “I've known her since 9th grade, when she was already deeply involved in student leadership, and I've enjoyed watching her develop and grow. Izzy is a huge supporter of all things Kingston High School and is just as happy cheering from the sidelines for her peers as she is being directly involved in an event or program.”

Izzy's leadership journey began early in her high school career. Inspired by her sister Grace, who served as Class president during her senior year, Izzy set an ambitious goal. "I'm going to do it four times," Izzy recalls telling her sister. That friendly sibling challenge became reality as Izzy wound up serving as Class president for all four years of high school, transforming that early promise into a genuine passion for student leadership that has defined her high school experience.

Despite having a schedule that allows her to leave after sixth period (around 12:30 PM), Izzy chooses to return to campus for her numerous extracurricular commitments. Her involvement includes Student Government, the National Honor Society (corresponding secretary), Peer Court (president), PBIS Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS), the Kids for Wish Club (vice president), the student-faculty Code of Conduct Committee, Tiger Paws (social media manager), and Varsity Volleyball.

Throughout all of her commitments, Izzy maintains an enthusiastic KHS Tiger spirit. "Football games with my friends are such a rush," Izzy shared. "It's just being together with all my friends with fun themes and good music playing."

She is excited to celebrate her upcoming senior traditions, like May Day, where she will serve as prime minister.

When asked what wisdom she would pass on to incoming freshmen, she encourages students to expand their horizons: "Don't just stick to one group of people—you'll meet so many people in high school. There are so many opportunities, so take them all. Don't say no!"

Izzy credits her drive and determination to her mother, Jennifer. "She’s my biggest supporter with everything I do!” explained Izzy.  This supportive foundation has helped shape Izzy's future plans—she has committed to attend Siena College in Albany, where she plans to pursue studies in social work and continue her study of Spanish.

Congratulations, Izzy! Your dedication to Kingston High School, school spirit, and our community makes you a truly deserving recipient of the 2025 Principal's Award.
