Attendance Protocols
Important Attendance Information
- All notes should be turned in prior to the start of the school day.
- All absences, early dismissals, and late arrivals must have a written or emailed note with a reason to be considered excused. If you are emailing your note, you MUST email khsattendance; or, notes can be turned in by students upon their arrival at school.
- Every effort should be made to provide a written note to the Attendance Office prior to first period. All students must sign out in the Attendance Office. If a student is returning to school, they must sign back in.
- Phone calls for absences, tardies, and early excusals are not necessary, as ALL absences from school require written notification, with a reason. Without written notification, they are considered unexcused absences.
- If a student arrives after 11 AM and does not have written documentation, an administrator is called to determine whether the student may enter the building and attend class.
